For the past 13 years, the Garlic Fest (www.chehalisgarlicfest.com) has been an awesome community event which draws thousands and thousands of folks who love everything garlic. At least we hope so otherwise they'll be really sick. Each year it has grown in size and each year it has become better in ways we never thought possible. As a matter of fact, the Garlic Fest is the biggest event in our county after the Southwest Washington Fair. This year the festival will be at the Southwest Washington Fair grounds. Ashley Creek Farm And Advocate Agency are teaming up this year to sponsor the event.

A family-oriented affair, there is something for everyone. From food (garlic franks, garlic pasta, Kettle corn, garlic-beef sandwiches, chicken-garlic crepes, to name a few of our favorites), to musicians, unique crafters and artisans, young and old alike were surprised at how fun a garlic fest could be.

Ashley Creek Farm is the exclusive garlic supplier at the festival. We have over 60 strains of organic garlic, and we sell it in bulk form or in braids, which we can custom-make at the festival. We also have our own line of garlic salsas, basting sauces, dipping sauces, pickled garlic, garlic, garlic dip mixes, herbs, and chardonnay-spiced garlic stuffed olives. Additionally, we offer many different quality garlic-related products, such as seasonings, mustards, oils, peelers, roasters, presses, etc. We have a talented wreath-maker in the family who creates beautiful garlic wreaths (see picture in the Fest 2000 Fotos) and other garlic ornaments. Our friends and family have helped us put together three cookbooks of garlic recipes.  The second cookbook came out in 2002, and the third cookbook is out in time for the 2004 festival. This year, we're coming out with a new cookbook with simple to fancy recipes. But make no mistake, there will be garlic! What do mean by this, you ask? Well, I'll tell you. Instead of 40-clove garlic chicken recipe, we have a 61-clove garlic chicken recipe. We had to make a serious decision 17 years ago...it was either garlic or hemp and we chose garlic. We're not rich, but we're not in jail. Anyway, we try to make the festival a one-stop shop for all of your garlic needs.

For us at Ashley Creek Farm, the best thing of all about the garlic festival is that it brings all of our family members and friends together. People from all over the continent (Nebraska, California, South Carolina, and even Canada!) come to help out, and enjoy the festival with us. We could never put on such a quality event without them, and it would never be so much fun if they weren't around. We owe them a great big Thank you!
