It has an ugly name - we should have a pronunciation contest! - but this beauty does store well. It grows ugly, it looks ugly!

This is from the "artichoke" variety, so named because the cloves overlap each other like an artichoke.  There can be anywhere from 3 to 5 layers of cloves, with no more than 12 in a bulb.
