You get plenty of bang for your buck with Polish White. Count on 10 or more cloves per bulb. The flavor will hang with you all day. After a few months in storage this can get hot, too, so break out the ice water!

This is from the "artichoke" variety, so named because the cloves overlap each other like an artichoke.  There can be anywhere from 3 to 5 layers of cloves, with no more than 12 in a bulb.
